Bradford photographer Steve Cooper will be the subject of the first Up Close & Personal Artist Series reception, Sunday, November 1 at the Franklin Street Gallery and Gift Shop, 209 North Franklin Street in Watkins Glen. The program, which is free and open to the public, is planned for 1 to 3 PM. Light refreshments will be offered. Cooper combined his interests in bird watching and photography into a new career. His work features the beauty of the Finger Lakes Region, from its lakes, boats and waterfalls to its state parks, barns, bridges and wildlife. In November, Cooper’s photographs will be featured in a month-long exhibition at the Franklin Street Gallery. In addition to the November 1 reception, Cooper will give a gallery talk on his work from 10 AM to noon on Saturday, November 14. The Franklin Street Gallery and Gift Shop is operated by The Arc of Schuyler, a nonprofit organization that provides supports to people with disabilities and their families. The Gallery was established to promote the arts in Watkins Glen, Schuyler County and the surrounding area and to encourage the participation of artists from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. The Gallery is open Wednesday through Friday 10 AM to 5 PM and Saturday 10 AM to 3 PM.
